Agentic AI

Agentic AI is AI that pursues a goal autonomously — perceiving, reasoning, planning, and taking actions across tools and systems, then adapting on the results — rather than only producing an answer.

The defining trait is action. A generative model returns content you act on; an agentic system completes the task. That is also what raises the governance bar — a wrong action is an incident, not just a wrong answer.

In financial services, agentic AI is applied to fraud investigation, AML triage, underwriting, and claims — always paired with oversight, audit trails, and evaluation.
