Who we are and what this covers
This Privacy Policy explains how Black Grid, Inc. ("BlackGrid", "we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information in connection with our website at blackgrid.ai, our demo and contact forms, and our related marketing activities (together, the "Site"). When we process information on behalf of a customer under a product or services agreement, we act as that customer's service provider, and that agreement — not this policy — governs.
Information we collect
Information you provide. When you request a demo, contact us, or otherwise communicate with us, we collect the information you submit — typically your name, work email, company, role or job title, company type, and any description of your use case or workflow that you choose to share.
Information we collect automatically. When you visit the Site, we and our analytics providers automatically collect technical and usage data — such as your IP address, device and browser type, operating system, referring URLs, the pages and content you view, and the dates and times of access — using cookies and similar technologies.
Information from other sources. We may receive business-contact information from third parties such as our analytics and marketing providers, event partners, and publicly available sources, to help us understand and reach potential customers.
How we use information
We use information to respond to demo and contact requests and communicate with you; to provide, operate, secure, measure, and improve the Site; to send you marketing communications about BlackGrid (which you can opt out of at any time); to detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues; and to comply with our legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.
Legal bases (EEA / UK)
Where the EU or UK GDPR applies, we process personal information on one or more of these legal bases: your consent; our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and promoting our business; performance of a contract; and compliance with legal obligations. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting processing that has already taken place.
How and with whom we share information
We share personal information with:
- Service providers who process it on our behalf under contract — including our CRM and forms provider (HubSpot), our email and productivity provider (Google Workspace), our website hosting and performance provider (Vercel), and our analytics providers (Google Analytics, via Google Tag Manager, and Vercel Web Analytics).
- Professional advisors such as lawyers, auditors, and accountants, where reasonably necessary.
- Authorities and others where required to comply with law, enforce our terms, or protect the rights, property, or safety of BlackGrid, our users, or the public.
- Parties to a corporate transaction — in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Third-party websites
The Site may link to third-party websites and services that we do not control. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices; we encourage you to review their policies before providing information.
Cookies and analytics
We use first- and third-party cookies and similar technologies (such as pixels and local storage) to operate the Site, remember your preferences, and understand how the Site is used. Analytics are provided by Google Analytics 4 (via Google Tag Manager) and by Vercel Web Analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's opt-out browser add-on. Disabling some cookies may affect how the Site functions.
International data transfers
We are based in the United States, and we and our service providers may process and store information in the United States and other countries that may have different data-protection laws than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy — for example, to follow up on a demo request, maintain our business and tax records, and meet legal obligations — after which we delete or de-identify it. Where deletion is not immediately feasible (for example, information held in backups), we isolate it from further processing until deletion is possible.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information: to access or obtain a copy of it; to correct inaccurate information; to delete it; to port it to another provider; to restrict or object to certain processing; and to withdraw consent. Because we do not sell or "share" personal information (as those terms are defined under California law) and do not use it for targeted advertising, there is no sale or sharing for you to opt out of. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's privacy
The Site is intended for business users and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16; if you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a revised "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
